SCOOPS AUTO EXPRESS AWARD

Peugeot’s 206 Coupé Cabriolet has been acclaimed as Convertible of the Year in the Auto Express New Car Honours.

"The brief here was simple. We wanted to find the best all-round cabrio. We looked at driving dynamics, price, ease of use and, of course, fun factor, before we cast our votes," commented Auto Express road tester, Mike Askew.

"For us, Peugeot’s exquisite 206CC hits the nail so squarely on the head, we wonder if the convertible market will ever be the same again. With its folding hard-top, the Peugeot breaks new ground and can rightly lay claim to being an all-seasons convertible," he added.

The Auto Express ‘Best Convertible’ award is the latest prestigious accolade the 206 Coupé Cabriolet has received since it was unveiled eight months ago. It took the title of Corus IvehE ‘Car of the Show’ at the 2000 British International Motor Show at Birmingham, and won this year’s What Car? award for ‘Best Convertible’. Car buyers are showing their appreciation, too - over two thousand 206 Coupé Cabriolets have already been sold and a further six and a half thousand are on order.
