GROUPE PSA UK HEADQUARTERS INSTALL ADDITIONAL CHARGING POINTS AHEAD OF EV PRODUCT OFFENSIVE

Wednesday, 18 December 2019

The UK headquarters of Groupe PSA are preparing for their electrified product offensive by installing additional charging points at Pinley House, UK Head Office to Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles, and Chalton House, UK Head office to Vauxhall with installations carried out by TOTAL.

Pinley House has received twelve 7kW AC charge points to its employee car park, with infrastructure in place to add a further eight 7kW AC and two DC rapid charge points in the future. This latest installation comes on top of the two charging points in visitor parking and five in the technical centre workshop. A further five are scheduled in its training Academy facility, whilst Chalton House has also received twelve 7kW AC charge points to its employee car park.

This announcement comes following the recent release of full details on the Groupe PSA UK, home and workplace charging strategy, designed to make EV ownership as seamless as possible. At the same time, the group’s dealer networks have also been preparing for the imminent launch of electrified products by installing charge points across their sites.

Groupe PSA is fully committed to becoming one of the major European players in electrified mobility. The French brand’s comprehensive electrification strategy begins with all models launched from 2019 onwards being made available with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or battery electric (BEV) derivative. By 2025, every passenger car and LCV sold by Groupe PSA will have an electrified version.

Over the course of the next two years, a wealth of new electrified vehicles will be launched across the Groupe PSA brands. A number of these models are already available to order such as the battery electric (BEV) DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE, new Peugeot e-208 and new Vauxhall Corsa-e as well as plug-in hybrid (PHEV), DS 7 CROSSBACK E-TENSE 4x4, Peugeot 3008 SUV HYBRID4, new Peugeot 508 HYBRID, new Peugeot 508 SW HYBRID and Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid4.

2020 will also see a number of new electric vehicle launches including new (BEV) Peugeot e-2008 SUV, (PHEV) new Citroën C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid and the replacement for the Vauxhall Mokka X. Groupe PSA’s LCV electrification will see models featuring an electrified powertrain by 2021. The latest announcement as part of that offensive was the 100% electric version of Citroën Dispatch, Peugeot Expert and Vauxhall Vivaro to be released in 2020, which will benefit from Groupe PSA’s innovation in terms of electrification. They will join Citroën Relay and Peugeot Boxer Electric which are set to launch in early 2020. By 2021 they will be joined by a 100% electric versions of Citroën Berlingo Van, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Combo Cargo, completing the line-up.

Helen Lees, Head of Electric Vehicles & Connected Services at Groupe PSA, commented: “As part of our electrification strategy, it is vital that our Head Offices are prepared for the imminent launch of our exciting electrified product. The latest installations at our Pinley House and Chalton House sites in addition to our technical and training workshops infrastructure are an excellent place to start ahead of what is going to be an extremely busy and exciting year for our brands.”
