peugeot uk's kris meeke & paul nagle have difficult final day

Friday, 26 March 2010

Peugeot UK's IRC Champions Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle began Day Two of Rally Argentina in third place and were ready to pounce in case either of the drivers ahead of them faltered.

Fog on the hills, rolling down onto the stages, seemed to be the main threat facing them, but Kris and Paul started the day in good spirits. Kris set a number of good times on the morning’s stages and was holding a good third place as the rally entered the closing stages.

Unfortunately on the penultimate stage a front suspension arm broke, possibly caused by hitting one of the thousands of loose rocks on the stage, putting the Peugeot UK team out of the rally.

Peugeot UK also confirmed that it will compete in next month’s Rally Islas Canarias, which has just been added to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.  The event, based in Gran Canaria, starts on April 29.
