  • Top marks awarded to PEUGEOT for Government and UK public sector vehicle procurement
  • Highest praise recommends the PEUGEOT range for excellence and recommendation
  • The extensive Peugeot range is presently at its most modern and its virtues are being recognised

PEUGEOT has been rewarded with four new ‘Vehicle Purchase Framework Agreements’ from the Crown Commercial Service (CCS), and is rated number one in three of the categories in a contract for the next 3 years. The Vehicle Purchase Framework Agreement Reference is known as RM1070.

The CCS is the centralised procurement office for Government and the UK public sector, and the announcement puts PEUGEOT in a very strong position to win future vehicle sales orders from local authorities, public sector agencies, police forces and Whitehall departments. In 2014 PEUGEOT achieved over 10% market share for CCS.

The four categories are cars, light commercial vehicles, police cars and police light commercial vehicles. They were the only tenders which PEUGEOT submitted, and were ranked by CCS as number one in three categories and second in the selection of police cars.

The Brand’s percentage ratings were exceptional – in two cases, at more than 90% – and its scores were, in some cases, twice as high as those earned by some of the 22 rival car companies who also submitted bids.

Martin Gurney, Fleet & Used Car Director, commented: “This is a first class result for PEUGEOT. Sales to local authorities, police forces, public sector agencies and Government departments remain a significant element of our corporate business. Public Sector sales is a field in which Peugeot has always excelled, but this news is confirmation that we certainly have the right products and the correct fleet strategy in place.”

CCS is the official framework which all Government departments must use to procure vehicles. Devolved agencies such as councils can opt to use it or buy elsewhere, but it remains a key indicator as to what are the most competitive products available in the market.

ABOUT PEUGEOT

The PEUGEOT brand can trace its roots back to 1810. It was in 1889 that it began producing automobiles, and six years later (120-years ago), it sold its first commercial vehicle. Since then, over 60 million vehicles of many different shapes and sizes have been sold. Demonstrated through its Brand signature ‘Motion & Emotion’, PEUGEOT is present in 160 countries, has 10,000 franchised dealers and is recognised for the quality and design excellence of its products.

The UK is PEUGEOT’s 3rd largest sales market with its Headquarters located in Coventry. Peugeot in the UK has an eight-model car range with the majority identified by numbers, now and moving forward, ending in the lucky-number ‘8’ – 108, 208, 308, 508, 2008, 3008, 5008 and RCZ Sports Coupé.
